When is it OK to Curse People?
Some say it is never right to judge or curse or prophesy harsh things instead of blessings and joys, yet Jesus and the prophets of the Bible did it. Why? Because of love, benevolence, a passion for righteousness and justice and for the glory of God.
- First, you should never curse or judge or prophesy harsh things unless you are 100% sure it is God’s will and that God will answer that prayer.
- Second, you should never do it unless you are willing to be judged by the same principles and to have your loved ones and friends also judged by the same principles as it would be hypocrisy to do otherwise.
- Third, it must be a situation dire enough to warrant it and render it better than leaving the issue unjudged.
- Fourth, it should never be used as blackmail or extortion or intimidation or bullying to get a personal benefit or personal relief from injustice or a personal revenge, but it should defend a principle of God.
- Fifth, it must have a fair, just, and reasonable provision for repentance and forgiveness and restitution.
- Sixth, it should be done in love. Hate is not the opposite of love. To love someone is to hate all that threatens. To love the unborn, you must hate abortion. To love the victim of adultery, abuse, and divorce, you must hate adultery, abuse, and divorce. To love faithful parents and spouses who have been slandered, robbed of family, home, children, and income and have been called a “deadbeat” because they have given all and have no more to give, you must hate the system that does this to them.
- Seventh, it should be done at the calling and urging of God.
Curse on Supporters of Abortion
With that in mind, some may find it right, loving, just and reasonable to call for a curse, a judgment in the name of Jesus Christ against
- all who vote pro-abortion
- those who perform abortions
- those who assist with abortions
- politicians, lobbyists, and administrators who fight for abortion rights
- those who arrest or bully protesters
- those who push Planned Parenthood’s agenda in the schools
And some, including myself, would advocate it against family members and friends of those people who know what they’re doing but won’t oppose them vehemently.
Divorce, Family Court, and Child Support Injustices
One may find it just and godly to call on the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit for a curse and judgment on those who
- shred the families of children for profit, and
- their families and friends who will not oppose them until they repent,
- those who threaten unjust loss upon the faithful,
- those who work to deprive the faithful and their children of their right to live together in love in the home, enjoying the shared family assets in peace without any robbery at all under the guise of any excuse at all.
Curse Upon the Nation and It’s Leaders
We may pray this curse would fall upon our very nation, upon it’s judges, upon it’s mediators, upon it’s legislators, upon child support collection agencies and their employees who call those robbed “deadbeats” though they agonize. It would be fully just to ask that God send them to hell fast before they could do any more wrong taking with them all who vote for them, all who campaign for them, all who befriend them, employ them or refuse to oppose them.
Provision for Forgiveness Where Repentance is Real
But, if God’s love and patience is great for those who offend God Himself, then we should be willing to endure suffering and be ready to forgive just as we would want to be forgiven. It may be better to pray that if there must be those who are lost and perish into hell, that they would be the most beloved of those who violate the unborn and the victims of divorce rather than that anyone be caused to perish as we should always pray for and seek and work for the salvation of others wishing that none should perish.
If we must prophesy judgment or a curse, it must be honest. It must be a prayer that will most certainly be in God’s will and most certainly will be answered. And it must be for the greater good. And if it is possible that the curse be both a call to repentance for those cursed as well as those who might otherwise bring a curse upon themselves for reason of injustice and lack of love.
Opposition to These Curses
Some will oppose any curse or judgment that would fall upon them–not because it is wrong, but because they want to be free to do wrong to others and to God without consequence. Some will deny the very existence of God in their minds to do that and in turn abuse everyone else who believes in God. Some will hijack the stated will of God and make it to be something it isn’t calling people to sin in the name of righteousness. Some will turn the words of a prophet upon himself and still stand under the fiery judgment of God though perhaps magnified.
Forgiveness is Available – Things Can Get Better
But, right now, what we need to do is turn away from sin, repent, and surrender fully to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and keep far from the curses that rightfully fall upon the unrighteous.
In the end, some will receive a warning from God for the purpose of bringing them to salvation. Others won’t listen and God may warn them so that when they perish on judgment day they will not be able to claim they were not warned. And some may perish waiting for the next warning to repent but never receive that warning as they had already been warned once.
But, in all of it, God does not look for an opportunity to curse and judge people. He went to the cross to save sinners from sin. If we perish, we will have to trample the blood of Christ under our feet. We will have to throw away all warnings God put into our way. We will have to violate the conscience God gave us and thwart every prayer made on our behalf by another person. We will have to numb ourselves to the calling of God where our consciences are seared. And by the time that happens, we will not even know we have done that and both death and hell will take us by sudden shock as nobody enters hell expecting to go there.
Repenting of One Thing Isn’t Enough
A person who is pro-abortion won’t make it to heaven by changing their view on abortion only. Nor will a person make it to heaven by ending their abuse of the faithful and their children only. But, neither will they make it to heaven without changing their attitudes and behavior as the Bible says “The just will live by faith”. You cannot have any real faith in God and be an unjust person.
So, if this offends anyone, and I’m sure it will, it is not because I love offending people that I write this, but because there seems to be no other way to make a statement strong enough to carry the weight it should carry.
I pray those who would carry this message to others and stand firm in it would be blessed and those who oppose it would face God here on earth and wrestle through it before facing God directly on judgment day to hear, “Depart from me, I never knew you, for as you have done it to the least of the brethren, you have done it unto me.”
Looking Fowarward
I’ve already suffered the anguish of a father separated from his daughter and made to pay for it. I have already suffered the loss of homes and income and savings and retirement and have been taxed on it. And I seek to recover and am now married to a wonderful woman.
But, my cry now is for the ones who are now suffering abuse and robbery and extortion under the guise of justice. I would that this nation be damned if it cannot rise above this injustice and above the injustice and cowardice of abortion. I would not see a nation blessed that engages in such crimes against God and humanity with arrogant continuity.
And yet, I also recognize and appreciate the great blessings many people in this nation have been to one another taking care of people who could not take care of themselves and providing aid to suffering people both within this nation and abroad. I appreciate the freedoms and the soldiers who laid their lives on the line to fight for our freedom. But, I detest that many of them have come home to find their spouses playing the harlot on their marriages, that many have returned to a heroes welcome that included service of divorce papers, that many have been robbed unjustly as I have and have even had half their military pensions given over to the unfaithful spouse and extramarital lover. It seems modern America family court is nothing but a pimp for the unfaithful and extorting attorneys, and mediators do nothing but lock in the divorce for any marriage that might otherwise have hope of being saved. And how we kill our unborn.
Would You War Against God or Against Sin?
Would you fight against God to have the right to continue these atrocities? If so, then let your soul be damned to hell if you will not repent, and may those who are likewise cursed be among your most beloved so that the eternal agony will not be felt among the faithful. And may your separation from this life be fast so your damage will be minimized. And if that sounds hard to you, may it bring you to repentance where you may be freed from such a curse and where you may be turned around and be a blessing to others and to your family and loved ones.
